The Shell and the Vessel
The shell of an egg is fragile, yet it protects what’s inside.
In Eetu Sihvonen’s work, the egg appears as a recurring body: a vessel that contains a world, and a character that perform memories, inhabit landscapes and, explore possible narratives. Soft and delicate on the outside, yet capable of holding darker, more complex interior realities inside. The shell becomes both protection and threshold.
