Some considerations about the title:
Estado mental / Mental state is the direct result of the previous text (Pánta rheî). Its writing coincides with the final stage of the COVID19 home confinement (July 10th 2020). In cognitive psychology and mental philosophy, a mental state is a hypothetical state that refers to both thoughts and feelings. It consists of a conglomeration of mental representations and propositional attitudes. Many theories in philosophy and psychology try to resolve the relationship between the mental state of an agent and a proposition. The original or “classic” theory of representation probably comes from Thomas Hobbes. It was a recurrent issue in classical empiricism.
According to this theory, mental representations are images (commonly known as ideas) of objects or the states of the items represented. The representational theory of the mind tries to explain the nature of ideas, notions and other mental philosophical contents of the contemporary mind, cognitive science and experimental psychology. Counter to the theories about naïve or direct realism, the representational theory of the mind postulates the real existence of mental representations that serve as intermediary between the observer and the objects, processes and other entities perceived in the external world.
