LISTE ART FAIR BASEL 2021

We are proud to announce our first participation in Liste Art Fair, Basel. For this edition we present a solo booth by Anna Dot with two performance-based projects: The Parable of the blind, an installation based on the painting with the same name by Pieter Brueghel the Elder that was presented in the framework of Writings for a sighted skin at Bombon in 2020; a project dedicated to the tired eyes and the desire to offer them a pause by stimulating the body and inviting it to dance, allowing it to be guided by the skin. And Siskin or a speculative study on the possibility of a language of plants, a project that comprises a performance, a video and a series of screenshot photographs. This project started with a performance, in the form of a lecture, that the artist presented at Picasso’s museum in Barcelona in which she introduced the topic of a possible language of plants as a rigorous academic and scientific discovery.

Anna Dot’s projects focus on translation and communication processes, paying special attention to the processes of reading and writing as well as digital technologies. Her practice is often performance and installation based, adapting it to the conceptual particularities of the process, which is usually motivated by an initial question that she attempts to explore by means of the artistic practice. Her work has been shown at Fundació Tàpies (Barcelona 2021), Pradiauto (Madrid 2021), Bòlit Centre d’Art Contemporani (Girona 2020/2017), Bombon Projects (Barcelona 2020 & 2018), Galerie Bernhard Bischoff (Switzerland 2020), MNAC (Barcelona 2020), Can Felipa (Barcelona 2020), Scan Projects (London 2019), La Capella (Barcelona 2019), MAC Mataró (2019), Charsoo Honaar (Tehran 2019), Galeria Heinrich Ehrhardt (Madrid 2018), Muzej savremene umetnosti Vojvodine (Serbia 2018), Plataforma Revolver (Lisboa 2017), ADN Platform (Sant Cugat 2017), Capella de Sant Roc (Valls 2015), among others. Her work is part of public and private collections such as Colezionne Taurisano, MACBA, DKV collection and Fundació Vilacasas.
