The “Transparencies” series takes as its starting point photographs of displays in museums that have now disappeared - such as the Musée de l'Homme and the Musée Ethnographique du Trocadéro in Paris - where “exotic” objects were housed in display cabinets, following museum models with a scientific approach. These stagings, a visual language that delimits the objects within a specific ideology, are meticulously disarticulated by the artist, who breaks down the photographs into layers and captures each of them in translucent fabrics that are placed on rails.
