Chaco, Argentina
Descargar PDFI paint memories of dreams — oneiric thoughts connected to my land and to my everyday life.
I live in a forested region known as El Impenetrable, and it directly shapes my work. The heat, the color, and the ancestral spirit are foundational elements of Chaco’s culture.
The impact of local traditions and native landscapes can be seen in my depictions of autochthonous animals — the maned wolf (aguará guazú), the anteater, the jaguar — as well as in the intricate forms I borrow from the branches of trees and shrubs that create impenetrable borders within the native forest. The light blue of the open sky and the pale tones of the embracing earth are also ever-present in my palette.
The fusion between centuries-old traditions and a contemporary visual language generates what I call Litoral POP. Folk art is my mode of expression.
Many of the animals that appear in my work are critically endangered. I feel a responsibility — and a need — to make this issue visible. Over time, this has become my banner.
I find a unique beauty in the rustic landscape that surrounds me.
Here I was born, here I live, and here I create my work.
When I paint, I feel that I am telling my story.
