HORTALIZAS
Project Rationale:
Weed, wild plant, or undesirable species. Hortalizas is a vindication of all herbicide-resistant “weeds” that, beyond being framed as a threat to the agro-industrial system, embody a multidimensional nature in which food and agriculture are part of a healthy and sovereign social, economic, and environmental fabric.
Hortalizas proposes the recognition of ten herbicide-resistant “weeds” (especially those resistant to glyphosate) present in our country, according to the National Service of Agrifood Health and Quality (SENASA). Through this series of ten illustrations created with pigments extracted from the resistant plants themselves, Hortalizas invites reflection on the prevailing values within the current food system and questions the criminalization of vegetation in our territory.

HORTALIZAS
Proyecto fundamentación:
Mala hierba, yuyo o planta indeseable. Hortalizas es una reivindicación a todas las "malezas" resistentes a herbicidas que más allá de significar una amenaza para el sistema agropecuario interpretan una naturaleza multidimensional donde el alimento y la agricultura forman parte de un entramado social, económico y ambiental sano y soberano.
Hortalizas propone el reconocimiento de 10 "malezas" resistentes a herbicidas (sobre todo al glifosato) existentes en nuestro país según el Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agropecuaria (SENASA).
Por medio de esta decena de ilustraciones realizadas con pigmentos obtenidos de las propias plantas resistentes a los herbicidas, Hortalizas invita a reflexionar sobre los valores vigentes dentro del actual sistema alimentario y cuestionar la criminalización de la vegetación en nuestro territorio.
